Frequently Asked Questions
How much will I get paid for items I trade in?
Our trade-in credit is 50% of the price we will resell the item for; simply put, we split the re-sale of the garment. Our goal is to provide our customers with a fair and competitive credit so that more DÔEN items can be used and loved by more people.
What condition of items are you buying back?
We are currently accepting items in excellent, like-new condition, with or without tags.
What condition of items will you not accept?
We will not accept items with the following imperfections: stained, stretched, shrunken, pilled fabric, torn, holes, faded color or discoloration, altered, brand or care labels removed or damaged, broken zipper, missing button(s), missing button loop(s), trims falling off or smocking stitches broken.
What categories are not accepted into HMD?
We are currently not able to accept the following categories: Children's styles, Footwear, Swimwear, Lingerie, Face Coverings, or Third Party styles.
What happens if my item is rejected?
We only accept items that are in excellent and wearable condition. We offer a comprehensive list of conditions in which an item would not be accepted that should be referenced prior to sending in your styles. This offers complete transparency as to what item condition is accepted by the program. This program is part of our effort to reduce our environmental impact; we do not want to receive items that cannot be resold as this creates unnecessary GHG emissions from transporting the items. Should an item be rejected, we do not intend to resell it, but rather remain committed to our environmental responsibilities by repurposing the garment through transparent, domestic opportunities such as remaking/repurposing. Items will never be exported overseas, incinerated, or sent to a landfill.
