Assistant Merchant

DÔEN is seeking an exceptional Assistant Merchant to join us at our corporate office in Van Nuys. This position reports to the Senior Director Merchant and will directly support business growth by providing data analysis and trend insight to help shape future product lines and drive performance of existing lines. While the role is Merchandising-focused, it will encompass elements of Buying and Planning as well. Responsibilities

  • Preparation and basic analysis of sales and inventory reports
  • Maintain master list of bestsellers
  • Liaise with design team to maintain seasonal buy sheet and monitor against OTB and seasonal line plan
  • Provide weekly linesheet vs line plan roll ups to Merch and Design teams
  • Upload merchandising hierarchy and other attributes into ERP system, ensure data accuracy
  • Support flow of information from product development teams to merchandising
  • Support Merchandising & Planning team in preparation for key business meetings (assortment planning, line reviews, financial planning, marketing calendar planning)
  • Partner with production team to keep to deliveries of key product
  • Partner with site merchandising and content teams to ensure top investments prominently featured
  • Analyze size selling and provide optimized size breaks to production team for purchase orders
  • Support Merchant in retail store allocations and sales analysis
  • Create top investment decks for marketing and communications teams
  • Manage Merchandising & Planning department calendar and flag upcoming key milestones to team
  • Monthly actualization of OTB document
  • Assess department’s workflow and process and be able to make recommendation to streamline efficiency

 


 
Qualifications

  • Minimum 1-year experience in a Merchandising or Buying role
  • Proficient in Excel with an understanding and prior use of retail math
  • Strong analytical skills and a natural penchant for numbers
  • Highly detail oriented
  • Ability and natural drive to create and maintain organization within the department
  • Strong, clear, direct, articulate communication
  • Passion for product and trend awareness
  • Good judgment, strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative style
  • High integrity and positive attitude
  • Passionate about working for an inclusive, values driven brand
  • Ability to foster an inclusive and respectful working environment
  • Degree preferred but not mandatory
