More than ever lately the idea of escaping our daily routines and comforts, even escaping America has seemed like a very desirable proposition. Maybe it’s the thought of sharing a broader world view with our kids, maybe it’s the current political climate, maybe it’s something that has come with motherhood. It feels like life is moving so quickly - our kids are growing up, routines beginning to feel so cemented - and to go on an adventure with my family where it is just us, fully present, fully living, and experiencing new places together would make the time pass with so much more richness and meaning.

As a brand we are inspired by people who embody a casual, effortless, creative life lead with confidence and passion. Courtney Adamo and her family took a leap year and traveled around the world - a risky choice with four kids, to step away from all that is routine, comfortable, and convenient (all very desirable for most parents), and into an open-ended itinerary. Imagine taking the idea of slowing down as parents, making it a daily goal to be in the moment with our children, then throw in destinations like India, where you get to watch them and guide them in seeing a new world for the first time. It’s a wild and beautiful vision, and one which Courtney and her family have seen through, ending up settling in Byron Bay as a place that felt like home, like somewhere slower - a home and life she shares with us via her blog. Taking a leap year never seemed so alluring; consider us inspired.
