Description of Duties
Title: Product Development Assistant
Classification: Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate*: $24.00/hr
Working Hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00AM-5:30PM
Schedule*: Onsite, Hybrid minimum 4 days in/office, Monday - Thursday (some Fridays in office as needed)
Location: Van Nuys, CA
We are seeking an exceptional Product Development Assistant to join us at our corporate office in Van Nuys, CA. This position reports to the PD Manager and serves a critical role in helping support our product teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support Product Development team in day-to-day functions.
Support PD, Design, Production & Tech by taking ownership of twice-per-week parcel sending to vendors & sending packing lists to each vendor (as previous).
Support PD, Design & Production by distributing parcel contents as soon as they arrive.
Assist PD team by preparing & organizing materials needed for BOM creation.
Assist PD & Design with Seasonal Collection Review Presentation set-up.
Assist PD Team in scheduling vendor appointments at HQ.
Support PD & Design in Creation and Maintenance of Product Knowledge Deck ahead of seasonal PK Presentation Meetings.
Support Sample Coordinator by issuing Purchase Orders for fabric for Content, Wholesale and Marketing seasonally seasonally.
Assist with filing and maintaining fabric and trim binders throughout the Development Season.
Assist with raw material sourcing.
Create presentation boards for design meetings and record edits/comments during these meetings to allow for communication with internal teams and vendors.
Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships with design, tech, and production.
Daily correspondence with vendors.
Use excel, google suite to update and maintain Sample and Style WIP as needed.
Other tasks and responsibilities reasonably requested or assigned by the Company.
Qualifications
Product Development or Production experience (1-2 years) preferred but not limited.
Computer proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
Computer proficiency in Photoshop & Illustrator, a plus.
Understanding of Airtable or Alternate PLM system, a plus.
Strong planning and organizational skills with a sense of priority for deadlines and attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change.
Ability to proactively troubleshoot and problem solve.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation.
Periods sitting at a desk, typing, sketching and working on a computer.
Able to lift/move/push/pull objects up to 25 lbs.
Able to walk, sit and stand for periods of time.
Able to operate equipment such as computers, copy machines, phones.
