Transitional Styling with Gabriella Gofis

The weather may still feel like Summer, but the inevitable fade to Fall is slowly underway. No one knows the balance of seasons better than Gabriella Gofis, the Chicago native who now calls LA home. As devout readers of her Substack “The Gift of Gabs”, we thought Gabri’s penchant for denim and effortless layering made her the perfect person to give some of our newest wardrobe building blocks a spin (think light knits, denim, and more).

“I love playing with Fall tones and textures and mixing them in slowly with my outfits to make them feel more autumnal,” she says of the way she approaches transitioning  Summer staples for Fall—adding a structured blazer to a lightweight cotton dress, or styling a cashmere cardigan as a top with a pair of peep-toe mules. See how she’s styling some of the season’s standouts, and the ways she’ll be wearing them as the weather cools.

LATE SUMMER SALTS

“I love the juxtaposition of a feminine, white lace dress with a structured blazer—it’s a combination I rely on a lot! I wanted this outfit to feel like Fall but keep it balanced with the time of year.”

PEEK OF LACE

“The mix of a lace mini and burgundy cashmere is perfect this time of year. I styled it so that the lace neckline of the dress peeked through.”

A NOVEL KNIT

“My love for denim runs deep. I wanted to style [this pair] in a way that made them feel late-Summer appropriate with a knit top as the perfect transitional piece.  I’d add black satin accessories for a night out.”
