Never-Ending Summer with the Blessing Sisters
My friendship with Amy is a true gift; rare in the sense that it is exactly the sort of genuinely intimate friendship that seems to be harder and harder to come by as we get older, busier, more self-knowing, and increasingly specific about the people we choose to surround ourselves with. The bond that I share with Amy is based not only motherhood but also in a shared interest in creative expression. In fact, we spend the majority of our time talking about design, visuals, and creative endeavors of all sorts. Paired with her wildly creative spirit is a strong will to follow through, and an unrelenting drive to create the beautiful world she visualizes. This, I think, is why friendship with Amy is so fun- and so precious. It feels creatively freeing, and fulfilling in a way that few friendships do. She is a constantly inspiring presence, even at a table with too many kids for Taco Tuesday. No matter where she goes, or what she does, she never fails to leave laughter and beauty in her wake.
Amy is a joy to work with, not only because everything she touches turns to magic but also because of her positive, confident energy. Amy started helping us at DÔEN with events, photo shoots, styling our in-office showroom, and anywhere else she could contribute - without any direction, completely understanding our needs and desires. In her day-to-day life Amy styles GOOP's storefront and executes parties for Jenni Kayne, just to name a few - Amy has a true gift and one we feel so lucky to be a part of.
See below for images of Amy, her daughter India, her sisters and family at their Michigan family lake house, taking in the waning summer days - the sun setting earlier, sweaters being pulled out, and the autumnal clock ticking.
