The Promperú Fair Trade Association follows the 10 core principles of the World Fair Trade Organization, and works directly with suppliers and the artisans they employ to uphold workers’ rights. Included in the 10 principles are critical commitments such as reducing poverty through opportunities and ownership, fair compensation for labor including equal pay for men and women (and at minimum a local living wage), and working in non-discriminatory, safe, and environmentally responsible workplace conditions. Promperú Fair Trade is committed to helping all suppliers achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
