Integral to all that we do at Dôen is a fundamental appreciation for natural beauty, and a desire to contribute, in whatever ways we can, some small amount of light and magic to this world. Shiva Rose and her daughter Coco are decidedly of the same mind; known to all as lovers, seekers, and purveyors of beauty in myriad forms. Both mother and daughter possess a spirit of wonder and absolute presentness by which we are endlessly inspired. From serving tea under a canopy of oaks to making wild berry pancakes, the two infuse all that they do with love and consciousness. I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent countless hours with the two as friends, and to this day I never cease to marvel at, or learn from, the way that they move through the world.

Shiva, whose line of impeccably crafted non-toxic skin care embodies exactly the sort of natural ease and grace that we strive for in all that we create, has been a cherished member of the Dôen community since our earliest days. As a maker, and as a mother, Shiva has continually served as a muse to the brand, breathing life into every Dôen piece she puts on (a trait that was certainly inherited by the ever-luminous Coco).
