Afternoon Wanders in Paris

Canadian-born, Paris-based writer Monica Ainley de La Villardière effortlessly embodies the essence of French style with a dash of humor and nonchalance, both of which are brilliantly articulated in her wildly entertaining Substack, Mon Review. We met up with Monica on the heels of Paris Fashion Week, where she took to the streets with our friend and photographer Sam Sussman, styling everything from boudoir-inspired silks like the Elowen Skirt—a piece she anticipates getting much use out of with or without the matching Chantal Top—to the ‘60s ranch wear-inspired DÔEN Heirloom Blake Jacket with equal ease and aplomb.

"The Elowen has a saucy-but-wearable lingerie vibe to it—but paired with a white tee, button down, or knit, it’s perfectly meeting or luncheon appropriate."

“When Spring starts springing in Paris, I lean into the three Ls: layering, lighter colors, and playing with different lengths!”
