Description of Duties 

Title: Production Assistant

Classification: Nonexempt

Hourly Range*: $23.00/hr-$25.00/hr

Working Hours*: Monday through Friday 9:00AM-5:30PM

Schedule*: Onsite

Location: HQ 14801 Califa St. Van Nuys, CA 91411

 

The Production Assistant will play an important part in driving an efficient product operation, support effective vendor communication and partner closely with Product Development and Technical Design to hit crucial deadlines while upholding DÔEN’s deep focus for design integrity and quality. The responsibilities below show a glimpse into the role's key functions and the impactful contributions this position makes.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

PRODUCTION:

Maintaining accuracy of WIP data and proactively problem solving to meet deliverables.
PO creation and PO updates for core and vendors as needed post vendor allocation.
Style setup for all DTC and Wholesale styles.
Style updates for selective vendors as needed.
Plan and prioritize workload to meet deadlines based on business priorities.
Ensure production data is accurate. Keep purchase orders up to date with any changes to units, cost, and delivery. Ensure cross-functional launch data is entered in a timely manner and accurate.
Execute strong attention to detail ensuring key milestones are met.
Negotiate product costs with vendors and ensure target margins are being met/exceeded.
Develop respectful and collaborative relationships with our vendor base with clear daily communication. Review WIP charts and time in action deadlines, costing, & fabric and trim approvals and ensure vendor partners receive prompt approvals and feedback.
Send projection orders to vendors and confirm bulk deliveries & time in action.
Follow up on QC issues and communicate with vendors on QC failures and reports.
Support product execution & work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Product Development, Technical Design, Design, Merchandising, Planning, Ecomm, Operations, Logistics, DC.
Attend necessary pre-production and production meetings.
Pulling and reviewing bulk submits and sending clear emails to factory.
Track fit sample ETA’s and provide technical design team with accurate & up to date sample ETA’s.
Support company goals related to Environmental & Social Responsibility.
Performs additional duties and assignments, as requested.

 

DATA:

Maintains and manages At Risk Reports.
Pulls and distributes Open PO/Inbound Report, Costing Report, Product Attribute Report and important style related reports (i.e HTS, Fabric Content, MOP, Sample weight, Size Scale order) to the team on a weekly basis. Also, weekly download and archive Costing Report on shared drive.
Manages seasonally to aid with label ordering.
Maintains and updates Production Asana Checklist.
Update and maintain data in weekly Dispute Report.
Support QC department in initiating QC reports.
Attends weekly Production Team and At Risk meetings. 
Meet with Operations/Strategy team seasonally to check POs post PO entry. 

 

Qualifications/Experience

 

3+ years’ experience in Apparel Production
Proficient in Microsoft Excel
Netsuite proficiency preferred
Exemplary interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in both written and verbal communication
Excellent computer skills
Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload in order to strategize the objectives and drive the various initiatives of the Production department to be accomplished in a timely manner
Ability to work under pressure in an environment of constant shifting priorities and change
Ability to proactively troubleshoot and problem solve

Physical Requirements

 

Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with reasonable accommodation
Periods sitting at a desk, typing, sketching and working on a computer
Able to life/move/push/pull objects up to 25 lbs
Able to walk, sit and stand for periods of time
Able to operate equipment such as computers, copy machines, phones
Must be able to access various areas of a given location
