The Finishing Touches

Styling for our shoots is, as so much of our creative process tends to be, a family affair; a close and fun-filled collaboration of many minds, the most magical moments of which so often happen in the spur of the moment on set through playful and lighthearted trial and error.

What results not only reflects the ways that we ourselves plan to wear these special pieces through the months and years ahead, but also—we hope—offers some creative inspiration as you look ahead to the forthcoming season. See below for a few favorite styling moments from our Fall shootfrom equestrian-inspired looks to pops of cherry-red that enliven fall neutrals, and so much more.

Equestrian Details

Equestrian-inspired silhouettes and details abound in this first chapter of the Fall collection, from the tapered-at-the-ankle Louvre trousers and pointed-toe Normandy Boots to the Vero Belt’s bridle- and saddle-influenced hardware. Lean into equestrian classicism by tucking pants into tall boots—and belting anything and everything at the highest point of the waist.

A '60s Feel

Drawing inspiration from the floral printed designs of the ’60s and ’70s, the Ashby Turtleneck—particularly when paired with the matching Rhea Pant, knee-high boots, and the Vero Belt—channels the style of some of the era’s most iconic muses. We love this playful look for a night spent dancing to retro tunes. Meanwhile, the Alucia Dress in Soledad Canyon—part of our DÔEN Heirloom Collection—is heavily embellished with hand-sequin work, hand-smocking, and dramatic flared sleeves, while the Marta—another Heirloom gem—is a swingy mini inspired by vintage lace patches found by our designer on a trip to Paris.

Pops of Red

In yet another nod to the cheekiest styles of the ’60s and ’70s, our Fall campaigns brim with pops of red that serve to enliven autumn neutrals—from red tights (an idea from our brilliant stylist, Layna) to slightly subtler red socks from French brand Collégien.

Light Layers

Light and easy-to-layer separates reign supreme as temperatures drop, adding a bit of new life to the cotton pieces we have worn again and again through warmer days. We love the Aniene Vest worn over dresses and cotton blouses alike, and the Ashby Turtleneck layered underneath anything and everything for a pop of contrasting texture and pattern and—of course—a bit of warmth.

All Wrapped Up

An ultra-soft wrap is the most reliable cool-weather companion; a versatile and impossibly cozy delight to throw on over shoulders when the chill sets in or use as a blanket when eyelids get heavy. We especially love our Greenwich Plaid Ember Wrap as an unexpected kiss of color and print to contrast and complement any autumn look.

In Full Transparency

While our styling team loves using high-waisted briefs from ARQ  for a peek-a-boo moment, we’ve always offered a selection of long and short viscose slips in easy-to-wear skin-colored hues for those who are looking for a bit more coverage; available in a v-neck or a scoop neck.

The DÔEN Delicates launch marks our first foray into vintage-inspired lingerie, with more to come this spring. The collection includes the Effie Cami, the Lucie Bralette, and Lyda Brief in shades of Oyster, Primrose, and Walnut—all of which match back beautifully to the Fall collection—in the softest silk-satin with a hint of stretch. We love the Lucie Bralette under a cardigan for just a little hint of sexiness but of course, they’ll also feel right at home worn as underpinnings or loungewear.
