Artist in Residence Kelly Zutrau

Photographed by Scott Vance

Art is, and always has been, one of our greatest inspirations – a wealth of beauty, insight, and creative vision that we draw upon often throughout our design process and beyond. We find so much joy in sharing these works whenever we can (our Instagram overflows with paintings, drawings, sculptures, and photographs by many of our favorite artists from eras past – Georgia O’Keeffe, Agnes Martin, Louise Bourgeois and countless others), and our shop felt like the perfect place to further share this longtime love of ours.

Our Artist in Residence program is designed to do just that, showcasing the work of a contemporary artist who we love and admire, and giving them a space to display and sell their pieces in person, on the shelves of our shop! We are so thrilled to have Kelly Zutrau, whose flower paintings we have admired for so long, as our very first Artist in Residence. Playful and poetic, her whimsical bouquets hold an extra special place in our hearts and in our homes (Phoebe and Helen both have a couple of her works already, and plan to keep collecting!). Unfortunately, due to the shop’s temporary closure, these works are currently only available for purchase via phone. Call 818.691.0308 for a PDF of available works, along with pricing information.

Kelly Zutrau is a painter and singer songwriter in the band Wet. She currently lives and works in New York City. See below for photos, and behind the scenes moments, from the afternoon we spent with her, painting poolside and reading poetry.
